Kirkland Watershed Park
Kirkland, WA

This is more of a stroll than a hike, but it is quite nice. It's near a community college and if you didn't know where to look, you'd probably never see it. There are two distinct areas of the park, on the hill is a forest area while below the hill is a grassier area. The grassier area has a lot of dirt biker trails, although we didn't see any when we went.

Most of the trail is covered with bark and leaves. At first the trail winds through a somewhat dense forest but it quickly dips down into the grassier area. It's less than 1/2 a mile before you're back up in the forest area, which is much prettier.

This is a loop trail, although there are a couple of offshoots that are down and back. One of them leads down to a stream covered by a bridge. However, the trail stops at this bridge. The rest of the pictures are from this area, I was playing around with diffusing techniques.

Here's Scott next to the stream. It was rather dark in this area of the forest and I of course didn't have my tripod. To get the misty effect, I blew on the lens. Between doing that and the darkness, this is rather blurry, but I do like the effect...

Here is the forest around where the trail ends. This is also playing around with diffusing by blowing on the lens. This is quite a pretty area, next time I'll bring my tripod.
