This is an airplane engine we saw in the science museum. This one room was
full of lots of airplane paraphenelia from World War II. The interesting thing
is that these weren't behind anything. So you could just walk up and play
around with the engines if you wanted to, but no one WAS. This was one of the
major differences I saw between American and Japanese culture.

This focault pendulum was hanging in the middle of the stairwell of the science
museum. It's extremely large, the ball at the end is much larger than a
human head. Focault pendulums track the earth's rotation under them and can
be used for tracking time. This one has a cool electronic clock that tracks
the movement of the pendulum. We watched this for quite some time.

This is the whale in front of the science museum (which included quite a bit
of natural history sciences). As you can tell from the people in front of
it, this thing was life size. If someone had put it in a fountain, it'd
almost be believable.
