Day 2 - Around the Island
Day 2 we drove around the island. Since we were in the middle this required quite a bit of time. First we headed north. We stopped at all the scenic spots that were marked as well as stopping at Wishing Well Shave Ice (the best shave ice place we tried, and we tried a number!) Shave ice is very finely shaved ice with flavored syrup poured on it. This can be put over ice cream or have several toppings (condensed milk was very good on top!). Definitely have it on ice cream. This is NOT a sno-cone, it's actually very good. If you have a chance, try it!
After taking a break at the condo for a bit, we headed to the west shore and got there in time for the sunset. A tiring but amazing drive. Check out the map if you want to see the location of the towns I'm talking about.
There are a LOT of pictures here, so I broke them up into three batches. The first batch is the fauna we saw on our drive heading up the north shore, the second group is north shore scenery, and the last batch is of Polihale Beach on the west shore.
