This was the view that greeted us when we pulled into the Paradise parking
lot. I think it speaks for itself better than I possibly could.
Another view of the fall foilage with Mt. Rainier in the background.
We quickly got to the rockier terrain. Beautiful in a different way.
Mt. Adams peaks above the distant hills.
A view of the trail. The scenery on this hike always amazes me.
A view of one of the many glaciers on Mt. Rainier.
Nearing the peak of the hike now, we're well above the tree line, nothing but
rocks.
Here we are at 7000' you can see the way up to the peak from here...
Another view of Mt. Adams from a higher vantage point.
Sherri and Stephan wait for the three slow pokes...
This was a rather scary bit to cross. We got a tad lazy and decided we'd
rather cross this ice field than climb an extra 200' or so.. Maybe those
closed signs were there for a reason...
Lauren conquers the high lands.
Just a pretty spring created by glacial water run off.
Lauren underneath the moon.
Sherri and Lauren along the trail.
Stephan and Scott hiking back down the trail.
The sun began to set on our way down. Here's Mt. Rainier's peak in shadow.
The moon was rising on our way down, so I had to stop and take some pictures
of it above the fall foilage.
Almost back, we ran across a large group of deer. They were very unafraid of
people, and we could get quite close to them. Unfortunately it was pretty dark
so most of my pictures of them are rather blurred.
Just more neat scenery.
This little guy was really unimpressed with us. He kept nibbling on his
dinner as we walked by. So I took a couple pictures of him.
We waited and watched the sunset before heading home for the evening. Another
fulfilling day on Mt. Rainier.
