Show Setup

This show was done on 6 barges. The show was *14,000* shells which is a little over 10 times as big as your average 4th of July show. However, it was only 28 minutes long, so there were shells in the air ALL THE TIME. It was amazing.

Unfortunately, because setup was on barges and getting on and off the barges was a bit unnerving for me, we didn't stay as long as we could have. We ended up spending a good deal of time scouting a place to take pictures instead, which turned out to be a good idea in the long run anyhow. The downside of this is that I didn't get very many pictures.

This is one of the barges. It was just rows and rows and rows and rows and rows and rows and... you get the idea.. and rows of shells.
Another look at a barge. We were setting out the shells onto the guns. We ended up leaving when it was time to do the wiring.
This is looking back at one of the barges. The scaffolding you see is the 40 foot tall scaffolding for the set pieces. Did I mention this show was BIG?
This is one of the "Big Gun" Barges. The 10", 12", and *16"* guns were on this barge. A 16 inch shell apparently weighs close to 60 lbs and you can see just how tall the guns are. Definitely a 2 person job!
