The first full day in Santa Cruz we spent on the wharf and at the boardwalk. Since it was memorial day weekend there were a TON of people on the beach, and on top of that there were beach volleyball tournaments going on. We spent some time watcing the sea lions on the wharf and went and had gelato at Riva's. YUM. Then we went to the boardwalk, rode the rollercoaster and the carousel. The carousel at the boardwalk is the best because you can grab rings and try to throw them into a clown's mouth. If you make it, his eyes light up and a buzzer goes off. Hard to make it, but quite fun.
