Monterey Bay Aquarium

On our last day in Santa Cruz, we drove down to Monterey to the aquarium. When I lived in Santa Cruz, this was one of my favorite nearby destinations as it is by far the best aquarium I've ever been to. Unfortunately for us, the sea otter display was closed for the day, but the rest of the aquarium was open and we spent an entire day there.

The jellyfish tanks are one of my favorite stops.

Jellyfish mass.

And yet more jellyfish.

The deep sea tank is really dark, so even the slow moving turtles blur by.

The 3 story tall kelp forest display is another favorite.

And one of the reasons I like it so much? The wolf eel!
