For New Year's, we decided to stay away from the bigger cities, so we rented a house overlooking Lake Arrowhead. It was a grand place (if oddly decorated) and the 6 of us had a blast. There was a pool/ping-pong table downstairs that we made liberal use of, and we made dinner every night. Almost no need to ever leave...
On the first night we got there, it snowed quite a bit. However, the next few days were bright if quite chilly. By the time we left, most of the snow had melted.
